SHOULD I PUT MY PRICES ON MY WEBSITE?

We are sharing our experience and the things you should consider when deciding if you should add your prices to your website.

There are so many decisions that we need to make as business owners and one that frequently comes up is “should I add my prices to my website?”. Sharing your prices on your website is something that is a personal decision. This is a question that our clients ask us often and we ultimately always leave the decision up to them.

Now, we want to be clear that this approach is not for everyone and is even a little controversial. Let it be known that we value our clients and don’t just see them as a transaction. Providing our clients with a great experience is important to us but, we are also human and through our experiences we look at this age old debate at a different angle.

WE WANTED TO SHARE OUR EXPERIENCE IN HOPES OF HELPING YOU MAKE THE DECISION OF IF YOU SHOULD ADD YOUR PRICES TO YOUR WEBSITE.

If you find yourself wondering if you should add your prices to your website ask yourself this. Why don't I want to add my prices to my website?

  • Because you want to get your leads on a sales call?

  • Because you are not confident in your pricing?

  • Because none of your competitors are doing it and you feel if you add your prices you are exposing yourself?

  • Because a marketing guru online told you not to?

HERE ARE OUR THOUGHTS ON THIS AS BOTH A BUSINESS OWNER AND A CONSUMER.

As a business owner, I do not have the time or the energy to get on a sales call with every new lead. It's not in our values to make someone feel pressure to work with us or surprise them with a price making things a little uncomfortable for everyone (am I right!?).

Adding prices on my website allows my visitors to see what the investment is before jumping on a "sales call". This means we save so much time.

As a consumer, I want to know what the investment is before reaching out. This will allow me to know if I can afford the investment or not. Nothing anyone say's to me on a sales call is going to make me be able to afford it and I am sure that is the same for you too. I also do not want to feel shame or guilt on a call if I am not able to afford an investment or hear their pitch on why I need their service although I already told them otherwise.

This quote from a Forbes article on pricing hit the nail on the head

“When the prospect knows the price going in, it becomes a non-issue, and we can focus on the more important points.”

ADDING YOUR PRICES TO YOUR WEBSITE ALLOWS YOUR VISITORS TO MAKE THE EMPOWERED DECISION TO MOVE FORWARD WITH THE NEXT STEP, WEEDS OUT THE BARGAIN SHOPPERS, AND MAKES THEM FEEL LESS PRESSURED.

By not having your prices on your website could also be turning away leads! We want to make our client journey easy as well as the decision to worth with us. I decided to add my prices to my website in May of 2021 for a couple of reasons. I was not getting as many leads as I wanted and I no longer wanted to have sales calls.Since adding my prices to my website my leads and income have increased by 34%. In 6 months I have been able to increase my leads and income by adding my prices to my website.
