Believe me I know what it’s like to choose colors for my brand just because they are trendy (cough cough millennial pink) or my favorite. But, it’s time to get off the merry-go-round of “IDK what the hell I’m doing” and discover how to create a color palette that is actually going to connect with your audience.

Step 01: MAP OUT YOUR MISSION + PURPOSE

Ask yourself these questions:

  • What is it that you want to be known for in business?

  • What solutions do you provide your clients with?

  • What makes you different?

Really take your time here and dig deep in regards to these questions. This is going to help your create your brands mission.

Step 02: MAP OUT YOUR BRAND VALUES

In order to discover your brand values you need to know the answer to these questions.

  • What does your business stand for?

  • What is important to you in the quality of service that you provide your clients with?

Write down some adjectives that best describe your brand values.

Step 03: GET TO KNOW YOUR IDEAL CLIENT

This is an important part of creating a color palette for your business. When you know what is holding your ideal client back from working with you, what they are struggling with, and their goals it is going to ensure that you create a color palette that will resonate with them on an emotional level and backed by color psychology.

Colors are both emotional + psychological

When we use these 3 key elements when creating our brand color palette we can ensure that our brand will connect with our audience on an emotional level. Branding is a feeling. Our colors have the ability to trigger these feelings in our audience.
